Cloverfield

Scariest movie I have seen in a long time! A lot of the imagery reminds you of Sept 11th, how they filmed this I do not know - but it is all done by small digital cameras so you feel you are actually running through the streets of NYC with them. We see a giant explosion in the heart of New York City and the Statue of Liberty's head being thrown down a street.

Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.

The title "Cloverfield"; initially just a codename for the movie, is named for the boulevard in Santa Monica where the Bad Robot offices were located during the making of the film.

The Cloverfield monster, in the words of the on-screen characters… “It’s a terrible thing”.
