I attended the annual Stars of Lyric Opera concert Saturday night at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. I think I saw an opera when I was very young with my grandparents. This was stellar! French soprano Natalie Dessay performed and 13,000 opera lovers turned out for the free event, with an overflow crowd of 3,000 sprinkled around the Great Lawn. My friend and I scored 16th row!
